The Tip Jar

I love a tip jar with personality. Personality wins everytime, and when accompanied with friendly service and decent food/coffee, then the tip jar is likely to be receiving. This one deserved to be filled! How hard was it really to roll a little ditty out onto bright paper, doesn't it look far nicer than the word TIPS scribbled onto a piece of paper and sellotaped to a latte glass.  Filling the tip jar (ah we live in hope) might be the second to last thing a customer does before the cheery goodbye flows from their mouth.
As you travel across the world you encounter different rules if you like about tipping.  In Australia it’s encouraged but not enforced.  There are service people here who mark you in their memory if you tip well or don't tip at all.  It appears the love is missing in these people, although they would argue differently. And then there are the places like this, where the tip jar is just one more reason to smile.  I've been trying to remember where I took the photo, and there is a clue right there, Caboose Canteen in Melbourne, when I had a coffee habit. (Living here when do I not have a coffee habit?!?!?!?).
