The Clown Time Forgot

What a thing to come across. Okay so it’s Halloween, allow that to give relevance to the situation if you wish. I however was completely delighted at the view to ignore that imported holiday fact.  9.30 on a warm summer night, the end of a beautiful day, the suburban streets now deserted (all the children home and likely running wild on sugar highs) and here she is, patiently waiting for a friend, a ride home.  I felt like I had just entered the set of Waiting for Godot, eerie with sad tinge made sweet by the girl’s temperament, more than willing to be photographed, obliging pose requests. I wish the world were full of people like her, shame on me I never asked her name, and just took her photo instead.

Awwww Wow Pretty

For everyone who needs a little wow in their life today.  How often do you see such near perfection in nature?  (I mean aside from the fact that nature has really got her act together and is the most perfect integrated variety plus beautiful system ever.) No photo touching, just a HTC phone camera. Look at those colours, look at the joy given out, a wonderful piece of life simply blowing gently in the breeze waiting for nothing except nightfall where she will draw her petals inwards and have a sleep then rise again with the morning sun.  Awwwww is really all there is left for me to say.

The Grey Invitation

This is gravel, usually it's just stuff we walk or drive on, we might find it on the driveway, on a road etc, not very exciting.  Aside from those who work with gravel, who really thinks of it in anyway?  And that is why I took this photo, because I wanted to see gravel in a different light, simple really.
What I caught on my camera made me smile, I feel drawn into the picture ready to tell fairytales about the land of grey matter and the creatures who hide in the cracks. I am taken to the sea shore or the Scottish highlands. I feel the cold wind and the approaching nightfall. I am ready to run a mile in escape from the wild dogs that chase me. I am ready to explore, trip, graze my knees, cry out for Mother to come rescue me. It is all there in the details.  What can you see?

Mah-jong Crazy

It's the reason I didn't get this post in before midnight, it is the reason my day drifted into oblivion, night falling before I knew it.  Computer Solitaire is a dangerous concept, extremely antisocial, stupidly addictive and a complete guzzle guts of time.  My computer is loaded with 9 versions of solitaire from memory, and seeing as I have finally turned off the dam application for the night, I'd rather not reconnect it just to get a tally right.  So I started with your basic solitaire game, otherwise known as Solitaire, moved onto Spider Solitaire, then Free Cell and today Mah-jong. I thought, you know what, why not give it a go, its my chance to make sense of a game wrapped in mystery, a game for excellent old people from China, mostly ladies and quite sophisticated ones at that.  Isn't it funny how childhood memories live with you?
Give Mah-jong a go, it’s quite easy, allows you to improve quickly, keeps you on your toes and the tiles can be laid out in different configurations for fun I suppose. I'm not going to give away any winning strategies here; you can work that out yourself.  Instead I'll report that as it turned out, the layouts appearing easiest can throw a few curve balls at you until you get to grips with it. In the end I managed to clear the board a number of times and feel good enough after a good few hours that if I went to rural China and found a group playing Mah-jong, I think I have learnt enough to join in and give them a run for their money, or dumplings or whatever it is on offer.

Double Double Leaf Leaf

Maybe you have seen a single fruit as a double. Maybe you know the correct name for this phenomenon. I have seen it plenty in fruit; I have no idea of the proper name.  Siamese Banana Syndrome?  That aside, have you ever seen a leaf with the same affliction? I suspect it's as rare as a four leaf clover. The one pictured here was found on the ground looking sad and forlorn, alone on concrete, separated from the rest of its tree.  It is now in a book, sitting safely between the pages, waiting patiently for me to take it out and view it adoringly, maybe I will laminate it, and maybe it will become the pride of a new bookmark, maybe a present for my Mother? At least that was my original intention.

The Happy Bins

When I look at these bins, I smile, I see joy and creativity and simplicity and well I also see pizza, but that is another story.  The paint turns a dreary and dirty thing like a rubbish bin into a fun object, turns a icky tiresome job like taking the bins out into a little adventure depending on your imagination.  Imagine dropping a trip and coming across these two towers of awesome.  "Hey where'd Bob go?" "Oh it’s okay, he’s just out the front, he won't wander far at all, he is rather busy . . ."
I love how each bin is still identifiable, the lids left unpainted.  The owner has no trouble understanding which bin is which, the rubbish truck can work out which is which, and the function is not messed with at all.  So all in all not only does the paint job look great, its adds joy on a rubbishy day. How excellent if everyone personalized their bins.  How hard would it be to get the kids to take the trash out then I wonder? Dam it all can't we paint the whole world?

Noone St

Is this maybe the loneliest street on the planet Earth?  Then again it may be a very social street, from memory I saw no one around, I seem to recall a small cafe residing on one of its corners, whose name escapes me also.  Maybe no one really knows the answer except those that live in Noone Street. All I know about Noone Street is that there most definitely is not no one living on Noone Street.

The Giant Hive?

Hello and what do we have here?  What do you see?  I am in the middle of a beautiful parkland, on a path I spontaneously travel, just following my nose, and am rewarded many times over.  The prize reward is this gem.  Immediately I saw a beehive, and anything else I then see is simply quickly eclipsed by my hive theory. If the photo doesn't give you a clear enough indication of size, I'm thinking about 15 foot tall.  For those of you in metrics, (I am too mostly, except regarding height, length is in mm, cm, etc) you will have to use your imagination, do some research, ask your mum.
Anyhow I think the hive is wonderful, I didn't see any bees, I'm impressed that it hasn't toppled even though it is on a lean and my day was definitely made sweeter by its appearance.

Sinclair is my friend!

This is Sinclair; he's a dinosaur, obviously.  He is the mascot for Sinclair petrol stations and I don't think there is a better company logo/mascot anywhere. Definitely he rips shit over BP, Mobil, Shell.  I mean a shell or a few letters is just never going to come close. This is a rare photo of me, I'm camera shy and usually behind the camera anyhow. I was happy as a pig in mud riding Sinclair and just as happy to have posted before midnight.  I would like to be regular with my posts and a makeup 2 in 1 will never be as sweet as reliability.
So if you like Sinclair; and you love the fact that I got up and rode him, then you like me, you like my mind and you are more than welcome to come checkout Sugarbees blog.

The Beginning Of Something Beautiful

Hi friends . . .
This is my blog, my way to show you the delightful things in life I see everyday.  It has taken me a wee while to work all this out, so today we just have an introduction.  My intention is to post daily, content is one photo I've taken accompanied by one comment.  The rest will reveal itself over the coming days.
Intro written, dinner awaits.
