I've never owned a cat; I have lived with a few. This does not make me a cat expert by any means; even so I'm sure that it’s pretty rare for a cat to shoot out its tail quite so straight. It looked freaky, it looked defiant, it made the cat look completely in control of the situation. The cat was not scary, although it gave you the impression you were crossing its path and the cat did not make any noise which funny enough added to its sense of control as if it was telling you everything it needed to with one motion. All in all I would not have been surprised to see the Starship Enterprise land and call the cat home for dinner.
